West Stoughton Long Barrow.
Site Name: Bank (supposed long barrow), E of West Stoughton
Civil Parish: Wedmore
Grid Ref: ST 4098 4883 (ST 44 NW) ST 4090 4893 (ST 44 NW)

An alleged long barrow was noted by H. St. G. Gray in the 1930s. In fact it is a long widespread bank running north-west down from the lower hillslopes called Bitham, to the Washbrook. It is very similar in both appearance and situation to the Whore Mear bank (PRN 12515) but there are no clues as to its origin or purpose. {1}
