Long barrow 180ft long, 60ft wide and 8ft high (Chewton Mendip I). Orientated E-W. Possible indications of chambering at E end. {1}
Seen and sketched by Skinner. {2}
Long barrow 110ft long and 10ft high with upper part of two possible orthostats visible at W end. {4}
Rather doubtful long barrow. A slight platform beyond scooping on the N side strongly suggests that this was originally a round barrow. {5}
Scheduled as AM 140d. Mound up to 3.75m high, 16m wide and 20m long E-W. There is an old quarry pit on the N side with some stone lying about. Scheduled as the E half of a long barrow together with AM 140e (PRN 23255), the central portion having been removed. {6}
Contained within cemetery (PRN 23256). {10}
Scheduling revised 11.08.1993 with new national number. {11}
The long barrow lies on top of the ridge in a field of permanent pasture. Generally in excellent condition with good grass cover, though steep NW edge has suffered slippage in last few years, with this now grassing over. {12}
